copy of letter to alex salmond from donald trump
Alex Salmond received a letter from Donald Trump to challenge the viability of the offshore wind, he is doing this on behalf of his late mother, nothing to do with spitting his dummy out because of his inability to play golf with wind turbines in the horizon.
Points that he made in the letter need addressed however and I look forward to seeing what the first ministers response is, not to the mince about threats of legal action to ‘save the Scottish people’ imprisoned by off shore wind turbines. However the jobs, who in Scotland are able to access the new roles in renewables? this is a good question.
There are people out there who have left other sectors due to the issues with the economy who with the right ‘up-skiling’l and training opportunities could lead the sector into making it a much more attractive options for Scotland and it’s people.
The turbines are in the main being manufactured outside the UK up until now, however there are core offshore skills that are most likely to continue to move over from the oil and gas industry (as well as fabrication engineering) from within Scotland or the rest of the UK rather than come from Europe or Asia.
The Scottish Government should have clear answers for the questions raised by Donald Trump to ensure the public have the right information to make informed decisions about the future of Scottish Renewable Energy and offshore wind.
